Scrub for AI replaces emails, phone numbers, IBANs, card numbers, API keys and passwords with neat placeholders like [EMAIL_1] before you paste into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. When the answer comes back, one click puts your original values back.
1. Scrub
Select text, right-click and choose Scrub selection and copy, or press Alt+Shift+X.
2. Paste
Paste the scrubbed text into your AI tool. Sensitive values are now placeholders.
3. Restore
Select the AI answer and press Alt+Shift+Z. Your original values return.
What it finds
- Email addresses and phone numbers, international and Dutch formats
- IBAN bank accounts and payment card numbers, both checked so ordinary numbers are left alone
- API keys and tokens for AWS, GitHub, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Slack and more, plus JWTs and Bearer tokens
- Passwords and secrets in key=value text, JSON and config files, private key blocks and passwords inside URLs
- IP and MAC addresses, Dutch BSN and VAT numbers, birth dates after a label
- Your own terms: client names, project codenames, internal hostnames and your own patterns
Private by design
Your text never leaves your computer. The extension makes no network requests, has no analytics and no ads. It reads a page only when you ask.
Scrub for AI finds patterns, it does not understand text. It cannot guarantee that everything sensitive is found, so always read the result before you share it.
